Turkey is not just for Thanksgiving

After my daughter Britt and I left Greece we went to Istanbul.  This was one of the greatest Cities I have ever been to. We had such a good time and made some new friends there.  We met a wonderful guy named Gabe that’s from there but lives in Dallas as he finishes up college.  Because he spoke english and his family was established with hotels and restaurants, he was able to show us a side of the city we wouldn’t have seen. So I want to thank him for being such a gracious host. Another great experience was when we went to the Greek Orthodox Fanari, the head of the the Greek Orthodox church.  While we were there we got to see Archbishop Demetrius and His All Holiness, BARTHOLOMEW.

It Takes a Greek Village

I’m so happy that I was able to share our greek heritage with my daughter Britt. We arrived and rented a car to drive to the village where my grandparents are from. It’s a small village named Alea outside of Tripoli.  We stayed with my 90 year old Aunt Maggie.  She didn’t speak english and we didn’t speak greek but you would know it by how we got along.  I had been there 30 years earlier and it all came back to me and the fun I had when I was 20 and my uncle was there taking care of his apple orchard.  The other photos are from Athens and our drive around the country.

The Cake Boss is in the House

What a fun job I had when I got to shoot the Cake Boss taping his show when he made the 50th anniversary cake for Century 21.  The party was help in Vegas with 4000 of their closest friends.  The only thing I didn’t like was that everyone in the room had a camera, cell phone camera shooting the show and posting it on Facebook etc…  Me being the official photographer had to sign a deal that I would do anything with the photos until the show aired months later.  I’m kidding, I didn’t really care. Buddy couldn’t be any nicer.

The Cirque is in Town

When I was shooting in Quebec City, I heard that Cirque Du Soleil had a free outdoor stage that during the summer had free performances.  My buddy Andrew, another canadian photographer, and I went down to see if we could shoot the show.  I know that normally they won’t let you shoot with your cell phone in a normal show but didn’t care if we shot his one.  What a wonderful treat to shoot these fantastic athletes/actors do their thing.  Thanks Cirque far a great gift.

Theses Angels are Blue

A buddy of mine got me into the private Blue Angels show when that came to Dobbins Air force base.  What an amazing show when you think that these guys are each going 450mph at each other and missing by one foot.  I showed these pictures to them after and the ones where I had them together at the perfect moment were their favorites.  I have allot of angels in my life and these are my blue one.  Thanks for a great show.
