After three decades of shooting corporate, association and special events, I have been feeling the pull to do something more meaningful with my career. That’s why shooting for nonprofits and NGOs has become a natural direction for my work, especially in the last several years. Using my skills to help local, national and international charitable organizations tell their stories, raise awareness and promote their good works allows me to give back through imagery that can be used to support their marketing, promotional and fundraising efforts. When used in this way, my photographic skills become acts of service that help promote positive change. But nonprofit photography is about more than just taking beautiful and dramatic photographs that evoke emotion and inspire action – it is about conveying important messages and communicating complex issues while collaborating with groups to support their goals. Working with those who are trying to make a difference in the world has become a passion and something I see myself doing for many years to come.
